The Sun Salutation Strip-Down. Not an official name of a yoga pose or an inappropriate sequence of postures, but the process that naturally happens when a woman does her first sun salutation. After all these years of practicing yoga I still find myself having to simplify what I am wearing and how I am wearing my clothes, hair, and JEWELRY, so I can move through the salutations with ease. However, I can now move through a sun salutation with more ease and less distraction because of my necklace choice.
For Bronwen and me it was love at Downward Dog- finally a necklace that didn't get caught around my chin when my head dropped below my heart. Five breaths later, when jumping up to the top of the yoga mat, my love deepened for this necklace because it did not bang me in the teeth! Not only will this jewelry not physically assault you, it is beautiful, charming and unique.
Thank you Bronwen for easing mine and many other women’s “strip-down” as we actively participate in life.
Check the Bronwen post below about the designer’s inspiration to provide jewelry for active yet elegant women.

We had a truly amazing retreat in Encinitas, California -- the epicenter for Ashtanga in the West. Our passion for Ashtanga was rejuvenated from our enlightening practices with Tim Miller and Sharath Jois.
As we sat on our mats after a difficult, sweaty, illuminating, and beautiful primary series taught by Sharath, he spoke to us about yoga. We were reminded that yoga should become a habit of every day life -- just as brushing your teeth -- and that as we consistently practice we will reap the physical and mental benefits that may be achieved through yoga and eventually reach samadhi, a state of joy and peace. Or put simply, as Pattabhi Jois would say, "practice, and all is coming."

We are very excited to have the opportunity to learn and grow from these teachers, and are even more excited to bring back what we have discovered from them to you!

Here is a sneak peek (recorded when Jai played for our Teacher Trainees last Friday!):
Jai Krishna has been leading Kirtan for over 20 years. He has spent months in ashrams and temples in India studying the ancient art of devotional singing and music called Kirtan. He performs at yoga studios, yoga retreats and numerous festivals includ...ing the Festival of Colors in Spanish Fork, UT. Jai's music will bring a world music sound full of peaceful bliss and driving rhythms that will create the perfect atmosphere for getting your groove on during yoga practice!
Jai's band features musicians from various backgrounds and include very cool instruments that vary from simple bamboo flute to exotic hand percussion instruments from India. Also featuring Troy Peery on bass....and maybe a few other surprises!
